Intensive Family Preservation is a short-term,
highly intensive, home-based service designed to protect, treat
and support Northeast Tennessee families in Carter, Greene, Hancock,
Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington with at least
one child at risk of placement in state custody.
The program
helps families develop new skills, learn anger management, parenting
skills, and provides therapeutic services, alcohol & drug education,
referral and counseling.
Coordinators
get to know you and your family in an effort to assist you. Services
are designed to fit the unique needs of the family. Some of the
services you coordinator may provide include:
• Develop service
plan with time-limited goals
• Help families
develop new skills, even
providing outlets for stress or recreation
• Provide anger
management or parenting skills
• Provide therapeutic
services, including
adolescent alcohol and drug education and/or
a referral for counseling
• Coordinate additional
services with Frontier
Health such as respite and outpatient therapy
or provide a referral to other outside agencies
as needed
• Provide intervention
and advocacy on behalf of
the client/family with schools, social service
agencies, community services resources and
other appropriate entities
Intensive
Family Preservation is available to reunify a family with a child
has been in and out of home placement, and this level of intervention
is needed to help the child return home and successfully remain
there.
