Counseling Awareness Month (CAM)

Apr 13, 2022 | News

Each April, Frontier Health celebrates Counseling Awareness Month (CAM), which was designated by the American Counseling Association (ACA). CAM is a time to advocate for counselors and other behavioral health professionals’ outstanding efforts and celebrate the profession. Counseling empowers individuals, groups, and families to accomplish their mental health, wellness, and career goals.

Counseling is provided by many different human service settings and can be seen in various institutions, such as schools, agencies, organizations, healthcare delivery systems, and private practices. Counselors often help individuals with stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and substance abuse.

Throughout April, Frontier Health will be highlighting on our social media (Instagram, Facebook, and Linked-in) some of our own who do such a fantastic job for those we serve.

“National Counselors Month is important, as it focuses public attention on the unique and vital contribution of these professionals within our communities. It is  certainly a time to honor and celebrate their outstanding work.” – Diane Bowen, M.Ed, Sr. Vice President of Operations
