JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Frontier Health has earned full accreditation from the International Council for Helplines (ICH), recognizing the organization’s crisis helpline for meeting nationally recognized standards of excellence in governance, leadership, training, program management, and suicide prevention practices. The accreditation is effective August 2025 through August 2028.

Frontier Health’s Crisis Triage and Call Center received a cumulative score of 172 out of 216 during the review, which included evaluations of documentation, on-site interviews, and adherence to ICH’s 2023–2024 accreditation standards. Examiners noted Frontier Health’s commitment to trauma-informed care, strong leadership, comprehensive crisis services, and robust quality assurance.

Frontier Health operates a 24/7 crisis continuum at its Turning Point facility, which includes its 988 and local crisis helpline call center, mobile crisis teams, an emergency walk-in center, 23-hour observation services, and a crisis stabilization unit. The center serves Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia and handles both state and national crisis calls.

In their report, ICH examiners highlighted the organization’s dedication to high-quality service delivery, the strength of Frontier’s training and supervision model, and the positive culture supported by leadership, staff, and community partners.

Full accreditation confirms that Frontier Health’s crisis services meet or exceed national best practices and ethical standards for helpline operations.
